THE BEECHMONT CREST CAREER GUIDE:

SURVIVING AND THRIVING IN THE CORPORATE JUNGLE

CHAPTER 4: INTERVIEWING AND CLOSING THE DEAL

Come up with good answers for the "what would you do in such-and-such a situation" questions.

Formulaic “what would you do in such-such-a-situation” questions are standard interview fare. The exact format varies according to the industry, but all are designed to test your problem solving skills. For a salesperson, the question might be “What would you do if the customer said that the price is too high?” For a production control professional, the question might involve a scenario in which a crucial piece of equipment goes down.

Try to think of your own “what would you do” questions before you interview. Although your interviewers may use different language, you will likely be able to anticipate the situational judgment skills that are important to them
