Unitized Construction
An automotive body type in which the body and frame consist of welded sheet metal panels. Unitized construction is common in passenger cars. Vehicles made by the unitized construction method are not as strong as body-over-frame built vehicles, but they are lighter and have better fuel economy ratings.
