SCANNING ELECTRON MICROSCOPE

The scanning electron microscope uses electrons to visualize specimens. From a fine probe, the microscope transmits electrons to the surface of the specimen. These electrons are reflected back from the specimen, mixed with electrons from the specimen itself. The electrons are then amplified into an image that can be seen on a television screen.
