Bring multiple copies of your resume to
the interview
By the time you get
to the interview stage, the interviewing company should already have a
copy of your resume. If the human resources contact has done his job
properly, then all participants from his side should have a copy of the
document at the beginning of the meeting.
However, I have
attended at least two interviews where copies of the resume were not ready
at the start of the meeting. In addition, sometimes additional
participants are pulled into the interview at the last minute. If you have
a couple of copies of your resume handy in your briefcase or planner, you
can avoid awkward delays while you all wait for copies to be created.
Also, having extra copies on hand demonstrates your ability to anticipate
and prepare for unexpected problems.
