SEALED-BEAM HEADLAMPS
The filaments of automotive headlamps are encased in a vacuum-seal glass housing. Sealed-beam headlamps come in two varieties: number 1 and number 2.
Number 1 lamps consist of a single lighting device. Number 2 lamps contain two lighting devices: high-and low-beam. (If a car has only two headlamps, they will be of the number 2 type.)
