FUEL LINES / HOSES

Fuel lines and hoses carry fuel from the vehicle’s fuel tank to the engine. The fuel pump draws fuel from the tank via the main fuel line. Fuel lines are formed from double-walled steel tubing.

Fuel lines are exposed to occasional jolts and constant vibrations during vehicle operation. For this reason, they must meet stringent safety standards. A ruptured fuel line would be an immediate fire hazard.

Fuel hoses are made from synthetic rubber. They route fuel through areas where there are space/clearance limitations. For example, a hose is used to route fuel from the main fuel line to the engine.
