Cylinder Firing Order
The sequence in which
the cylinders fire. The firing order is determined by the relative
positions of the crankshaft rod journals. The cylinder firing order should
be noted in the vehicle’s service manual. It may also be indicated on the
engine intake manifold.
The cylinder firing
order is important when working on the vehicle’s ignition system,
replacing spark plug wires, or other tasks associated with an engine
tune-up.
