Chamomile flowers are dried and ground up. They are then consumed in teas and capsules. 

 

Benefits 

Chamomile is a mild sedative that may provide benefits for people suffering from sleeplessness. It may also reduce inflammation and fever.  

Chamomile is thought to help gastric ulcers heal. Some animal studies have suggested that chamomile can inhibit the growth of Helicobacter pylori, a type of bacteria that causes ulcers in the stomach. Similar results have yet to be demonstrated in human trials.

 

Side Effects 

Chamomile may reduce the absorption of drugs taken orally.  

Chamomile may interact with sedatives and alcohol 

Chamomile products contain pollen. The pollen causes allergic reactions in some users.
