CELL THEORY
The cell theory is one of the foundations of modern
biology.
This generally
accepted theory includes the following ideas:

Cells are the
smallest living things.

All organisms
consist of one or more cells.

Metabolism occurs
within cells.

Hereditary traits
are transferred via cells.

All cells are
created through the division of existing cells. (In other words, no
cells are spontaneously generated.)
