Body-over-Frame Construction
An automotive body type in which the frame consists of thick steel girders, and the chassis and body parts are bolted to the frame. Body-over-frame construction is common in trucks and sport utility vehicles (SUVs). Body-over-frame vehicles are sturdy, but are also heavy and typically have poor fuel economy.
