AIR FILTER

An air filter removes dirt, dust, and other impurities from the air entering the engine’s intake manifold. Most air filters consist of a paper-based filter element mounted inside a metal or plastic housing.

When the air filter is serviced, service personnel replace the paper element with a new unit. The housing can be reused, although it should be wiped clean before a new paper element is inserted.
